SYA+FH provided both architectural and general contracting services for this waterfront home in historic Mystic, Connecticut. Updating the home’s structure to comply with today’s building code and the client’s social lifestyle was the focal point of the project. Nearly every bearing wall was removed from the first floor to optimize water views. The new main stair is newel post free, and features a floating, hand-made, black walnut handrail.
